Lessons
Approach
Lessons are currently given on Roland FP-3 and Roland ep-7 II digital pianos. I evaluate each student to find out his/her interests, goals and level of experience so that I can best meet his/her needs. After the half-hour lesson, students are moved into the computer laboratory session where basic concepts are emphasized and reviewed through music software and games on the computer.
Lessons
Private lessons are for those who not only would like to learn for their own enjoyment, but would also like to learn more about the art of playing the piano.
Lessons are given one-on-one on Roland FP-3 and Roland ep-7 II digital pianos. Many of my beginning students start off using the Technics method. They then branch off to other popular methods such as Bastien, Hal Leonard, and Faber. After graduating from these books, students move on to classical and romantic repertoire, such as Mozart and Beethoven. Aside from classical music, jazz and pop pieces are also incorporated into the lessons to develop a well-rounded musician. Musicianship skills (such as ear training and theory) are incorporated into the lessons as well. Parents are welcome to sit in and observe lessons.
Laboratory Session
The laboratory session is a fifteen-minute session that either follows or precedes the student’s lesson. It basically involves reinforcement studies through the use of computer music software and a CD listening station.
Age Group/Level/Experience
Interested students aged 4 to adult – both beginning and intermediate levels – are welcome.
Tuition Fees
The tuition fee for a half-hour lesson and fifteen-minute laboratory session once a week is $26 (tax included). Lessons held for more than once a week may be arranged if desired. Payment is made at the first lesson of each month.
For adults at the age of 60 and up, ask about a senior discount.
